The partners of Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen are pleased to announce that Cintia Martins Costa has been named partner and Caroline Lootvoet counsel with effect from 1st January 2012. Cintia Martins Costa became a member of the Luxembourg Bar in May 2005 and joined Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen the same year. She graduated from the "Université Robert Schuman" (Strasbourg) and is a "maître en droit" in business law. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law obtained at King's College (London). She is fluent in English, French, German, Luxembourgish and Portuguese. ******************************************************* Caroline Lootvoet became a member of the Brussels Bar in 2002. She joined Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen and was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar under her home title in February 2008. Prior to joining Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen, she worked with the Brussels office of two major international law firms. She holds a law degree from the "Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve" (Belgium) and a "Master in Intellectual Rights" from the "Catholic University of Brussels" (Belgium). She is fluent in French, English and Dutch.

Interactive workshop on UCITS IV held in London on 13th October 2010

This event was organised jointly by Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen, Deloitte Luxembourg and Deloitte London. During the workshop, participants were given an in-depth insight into specific challenges of UCITS IV including the impact of the Management Company passport on self-managed SICAVs, the logistics of the Simplified Notification Process and the impact of Master-Feeder Structures and Cross Border Mergers. Lou Kiesch, Partner at Deloitte Luxembourg moderated the workshop. With him on the panel were Eliza Dungworth, Partner at Deloitte London, Jacques Elvinger, Gast Juncker and Jérôme Wigny, Partners at Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen and Michael Flynn, Directeur at Deloitte Luxembourg.

Selected UCITS IV Topics

An interactive seminar which provided participants with an in-depth insight into selected topics of the forthcoming implementation of the UCITS IV Directive as well as other expected changes to the investment fund legislation in Luxembourg was held in our offices on 21st and 22nd September 2010. Participants had an opportunity to discuss the practical implications thereof for their businesses. The seminar was led by Jacques Elvinger, Marc Elvinger, Michel Mengal, Gast Juncker and Jérôme Wigny.

UCITS IV

The proposals on the enhancement of the regulatory framework for UCITS initially presented in the form of an EU Commission Green Paper during 2005 are now in the final stages of their approval process at the EU level. The final text of the UCITS IV Directive, as proposed by the EU Commission and agreed upon by the EU Council, is now available and has been adopted by the EU Parliament on January 13th, 2009 for implemenation by EU Member States by July 2011 at the latest. The purpose of this Seminar was to share our analysis of the UCITS IV Directive and discuss the potential impact on the Luxembourg fund industry. The Seminar was led by Jacques Elvinger, Frédérique Lifrange, Sophie Dupin and Olivia Moessner.
