Marc has been very actively involved in the drafting of a proposal for the introduction of the status of a Social Impact Company (Société d'Impact) into Luxembourg company law. Marc, together with Ulrich Grabenwarter (Head of Development: Impact Investing at European Investment Fund & Visiting Professor at IESE, Barcelona), will be discussing how social impact companies have the potential to become tomorrow's structure for Responsible Investing by facilitating, in one single corporate structure, the cooperation of investors seeking social impact only and investors seeking a financial return on their investment as well. Social Impact Companies may thus develop into a unique investment target for social entrepreneurship investment funds."

Hong Kong Office to open in June 2012

Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen announces the opening of its first overseas office

Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen has decided to open its first overseas office in Hong Kong in June 2012 (subject to compliance with the necessary regulatory requirements) and to register as a Foreign Law Firm with the Hong Kong Law Society.
We are following our Asian clients' growing demand for immediate accessibility to the members of our teams in their respective geographic areas and time zones. Through this additional element of proximity, we are tightening our working relationship with our clients. Our presence in Hong Kong will also enable us to cover more efficiently the major financial centres in the Asia-Pacific region including China.
Our Hong Kong office will be staffed with experienced lawyers up to partner level. They will be supported in Luxembourg by dedicated teams readily available and familiar with the Asian environment. The Hong Kong office will advise exclusively on Luxembourg law in the following key areas of practice:

investment funds and asset management

corporate

private equity and real estate acquisition finance

corporate finance and capital markets

tax law.

Our expertise encompasses in particular advice relating to investment fund structures using Luxembourg-regulated or unregulated vehicles benefiting from the favourable legal, regulatory and tax environment which Luxembourg offers.
Because of today's increasingly complex cross-border transactions, and in order to satisfy the needs of our clients we have developed close working relationships with distinguished local law firms who share the same philosophy and seek to attain the same standards of quality. This will enable us to work in seamless integrated teams also in Asia while eliminating the time difference.
